FurMark is Open GL benchmarking software specialized for fur rendering. It is small and comes with an extremely friendly interface which allows easy performing of OpenGL benchmark tests which have focus on fur rendering.

The application features modern specialized rendering algorithm which has 100 passes which is considered as high multi pass number. Each pass or layer renders over GLSL which is Open GL Shading Language pixel shader that makes the hairs finer and finer.

In order to increase the realism of the fur the FurMark uses two dynamic lights for self-shadowing.
In the benchmark windows there are couple of options which allow for tweaking of the renders. Some of them are the ability to render in full screen or windowed mode, setting the exact window size, MSAA selection and the duration of the render itself.

With startup interface you will also be able to tweak or choose different features regarding rendering. You will be able to choose between Benchmark mode or stability test mode for overclocking. When choosing the window size of the render you will have an option to choose from different standard Window sizes. There are two types of Benchmarking parameters available: time based or frames based.

For advanced users there is an ability to use the contest mode. FurMark is free for download and use and it requires an OpenGL 2.0 compliant GPU such as NVIDA GeForce 5/6/7/8 or higher and AMD/ATI Radeon 9600 or newer.
