Mixxx: A free and powerful DJ mixing application

Mixx is a feature-rich DJ mixing piece of software that comes with a comprehensive collection of features which includes automatic mixing functions, dual decks, BPM detection and synchronization, support for iTunes, live broadcasting and so much more.

The open-source app will prompt you to select a folder containing the files you want to load, at first run. Since it integrates with Rythmbox, iTunes and Traktor, you can also access you files and playlists from any of these libraries.

The app works with external USB soundcards and MIDI controllers and supports headphone cueing that lets you listen the next song you want to mix with no need to add it to the main deck. Also, you can customize API sound and sample rate, as well as export mixed sounds to a file on your hard drive.

There are numerous other capabilities included in this useful DJ mixing platform such as various track controls, line faders, the ability to define cue points, special effects, equalizer, gain knobs and many others.

Also, you can export your mixed audio files to a number of formats, specifically MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG, AAC and AIFF.
