Daminion Server: A reliable application that can quickly setup the server-side connection for the Daminion data management application

Daminion Server is a full-featured document, image and video manager for the local network, so multiple users can control it remotely. It lets you activate the server-side connection and monitor its status, currently used ports, the assigned administrator and information related to the machine it’s installed on.

The application is actually made of two components that can be installed: the Client setup and the Server setup. The latter has to be installed on a machine which will be the server for your local network. Through Daminion Server you can setup remote access of all network users to the Daminion data management application.

You can control the tool from the Administration Panel, that also shows if the connection is active or not. Furthermore, you can also see the computer name, IP address in the panel. After installation, the application works as a Windows service, and you can customize it from the Services pane.

Documents on the network can be accesed only if all the Daminion Server service accounts have read/write permissions. Also, folders that stored the documents need to have read/write access from a Daminion Server service user account.
