Portable HeidiSQL: Manage multiple MySQL database connection with this small, customizable application

Portable HeidiSQL is a small and flexible utility that can help you manage and organize your MySQL database connections with very little effort. At first run, the application requires you to add a new connection. You’ll also need to input the username, password and host name.

You can enable SSL encryption to keep your databases safe from unauthorized access in the Session manager window located in the Advanced tab. When you finish setting up the connection, a new entry will be displayed in the left panel. To view all available tables, simply double-click it. This lets you see columns, indexes and foreign keys for each table. Also, you can edit the current table by adding/removing columns, setting new variables or changing the primary keys.

Users can export structure and data to the clipboard, a new SQL file or to other servers. User authentication and privileges can be managed by changing credentials and limitations, closing/opening multiple database connections as well as dumping database objects to a new SQL file.

Furthermore, the tool enables you to automatically reformat disordered SQL scripts, view binary data as text and stop on errors while in batch mode. In the Preferences window you can change the font as well as data appearance and shortcut, but also enable the completion proposal function among other things.
