Lightshot: A small and easy to use tool for capturing area screenshots with editing, printing and sharing options

Lightshot is a free, simple application that lets you capture area screenshots, also including functions to edit, print or share your captured images on several social networks.

The application will add an icon in the system tray from where you can access its option. If you click it, you can capture the screen right away. The desktop will dim automatically, allowing you to make an area selection and grab a screenshot – with the option to make it full screen if you want to.

The PrintScreen key can also be used to take screenshots with the application, since once you install it, the tool takes over the default system capability. You can save the captured images as PNG, JPEG or PNG formats. Furthermore you can copy them to the Clipboard, print and share them on popular social networks like Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook. Lightshot also lets you upload your screenshots to PrntScr.com or search Google for similar images.

Concerning image editing tools you’ll get a basic collection that enables you to draw simple shapes – rectangles, lines, arrows – using a brush or a pen, along with color editing options for the supported shapes.
