Portable Freeplane: Great app for users that need a little help with brainstorming sessions

Freeplane is a very handy application that lets users at work, for example, create mindmaps that can be used for brainstorming sessions.

Since this is a portable edition, you can copy Freeplane on any USB flash drive and carry the app wherever you go, since installation is not required, you can extract the software files on any computer and run it directly.

It sports a neat user interface and allows you to insert a multitude of elements into the mind map, (e.g. Questions, exclamation marks, stars for rating, light bulbs for ideas, info signs, numbers, flags, and smiley faces) while also supporting multiple tabs that allow you to work on multiple projects, change the map background color, password protect the mind map, export it to HTML, JPEG, XML, XLS, TXT, and other formats.

Freeplane also spots a variety of functions, like viewing map statistics, save all open maps to file, search and replace, minimize nodes, change the edge color, manage time, tasks, and addons and even edit and run scripts.

Overall, Freeplane is a handy software application that helps users create mind maps to help them with brainstorming sessions, while also sporting a lot of functions and customization options. On the downside, it requires a very high amount of system resources to work properly.
