TextExpander: A handy tool that lets you create snippets and automatically insert pieces of text while typing

Thanks to modern applications we can avoid writing repetitive text and become more productive. TextExpander is such a tool and it allows you to create snippets and automatically insert pieces of text as you type.

To use the program you will need to create an account. With that taken care of, you can access TextExpander from its system tray icon.

To create new snippets, groups and abbreviations, as well as manage them, you need to login to your online account on the app’s official website, textexpander.com. There, it is possible to add new snippets, assign them labels and use the built-in editor when creating them to automatically insert date and time, calculate the cursor position and insert clipboard content.

Besides creating plain snippets, TextExpander also lets you create code templates as it includes HTML and CSS snippet groups as well as support for various coding languages like JavaScript, Shell Script and Apple Script.
