Advanced Serial Data Logger: Write RS232 data directly into files, Excel, Access or any Windows application

Advanced Serial Data Logger is an advanced tool that lets you input RS232 data straight into files as well as Microsoft Excel, Access and all other Windows applications. It’s also capable to collection information in real-time from serial devices and instruments.

The application allows you to log multiple serial ports – RS232, RS845, RS422 – simultenaously and send requests or commands to the serial port you want to control. Also, you can query your devices over ASCII or MODBUS protocol. It can run as a service, thus starting automatically at system boot and letting you open it in a spy mode.

The functional interface shows the formatted data messages list containing logged information, errors, warnings, current state for the selected data source, number of processed bytes and interface error messages.

To continue, Advanced Serial Data Logger lets you quickly pull up the current log file and program protocol file in Notepad. You can backup configuration settings as an INI file, so you’ll be able to import data in future projects.

Users can easily generate statistics regarding uptime, data packets and current log file, clear the screen with a single click and start or pause the data receiving process. Also, the settings can be saved to an INI file or the registry and the information displayed in the main window can be copied to the clipboard.

New configurations can be set up by adjusting various COM parameters like baud rate, parity, polling mode and baud rate. The data flow control can be modified using RTS or DTR, selecting the type and enabling ANSI, TTY, VT100 or VT52 terminal emulation.

The program lets you export information to practically any database such as MS Access, MS Excel, Oracle or MS SQL among others. Advanced Serial Data Loger can run as a DDE server and lets you expand its functionality by using plugins.
