Artifactory: Advanced Repository for binaries

Artifactory is an enterprise grade repository of binaries and it reunites and focuses all aspects of managing software binaries.

It can be deployed per server in order to serve teams of developers and it has uniquely positioned itself as a leading tool in the binary software market as it is the only utility with the support for all technologies and tools.

Recently the support for .NET and NuGet have been added as first class citizens of Artifactory thus allowing users to point VisualStudio at Artifactory to be used as a central point for all NuGet feeds.

All NuGet packages can be proxied directly from the NuGet Gallery or from any other remote feed. They can also be deployed or hosted using the MSBuild, WebUI or straight from your build server.

There are 3 available versions of the application: Artifactory Open-Source, Artifactory Pro and Artifactory Online / Cloud (SaaS).

Some of the best features of this program are the fact that it runs out of the box and lets you quickly install it as a UNIX service. It also allows for easy and sensible configuration of local and remote proxied repositories. There is a support for fully system import / export in order to allow smooth relocation and easy version updates.

It also features smart repository aggregation and routing logic with included merging of artifact metadata. There is a support for centrally controlled snapshots policy that can be unique or non-unique or end-user defined. All unique snapshots can be automatically cleaned.
Artifactory also offers strong security model with path based permissions for admins, deployers or readers. Anonymous readers are supported as well.

Audit log for repository operations can be exported along with transactional artifact deployments. Searches of artifacts are extremely fast and use of strong deployment time consistency allows for checking for corrupted artifacts and avoiding them.

In terms of security there are concurrent access locks that prevent data corruption.
