Atom is a robust text editor with support for source code editing and a set of dedicated options, supporting various programming languages.

The program is a superior alternative to the classic Notepad app, as it allows you to highlight the syntax of your source code files and easily format text. The modern interface displays each opened file in a separate tab, along with easy to use navigation panels.

Even if a specific file format cannot be previewed or played in the app, it will still try to display any text it contains.

You can use Atom in normal mode to edit source code and plain text, as well as for managing and viewing files. In developer mode, the program itself can be edited, thus you can change its existing features and even add new ones.
