yEd: Easily create and edit drawings with a comprehensive database of elements

yED is a powerful application that lets you create complex diagrams in an efficient manner, thanks to its automated layout feature which organizes elements for large data sets.

The program is Java-based and bundles a comprehensive collection of elements that can be used to create new diagrams, but also to edit existing graphs imported from various types of sources.

The built-in collection of objects includes edge types, flowcharts, modern and shape nodes, UML items, entity relationships and more.

Also, diagrams can be imported from various file types such as XML, GraphML, Excel spreadsheets, GEDCOM and GML. When exporting, you can save your diagrams as JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, PDF, HTML, SVG, DWF and EPS among other formats.
