FreeNet: Useful platform that provides users with a secure way to upload and download files on the Internet.

FreeNet is a peer-to-peer platform that was created with a complete suite of features that will help users share, download, browse, or chat on forums, and since it’s a Java-based app, users need to make sure they have it installed on their system.

When users start the program, they will need to between three security modes, first one offers lower security and allows them to connect to any FreeNet users, the second lets them connect only to some users, and the third allows them to configure the dedicated parameters according to their privacy needs.

The program also comes with two modes of operation, the first one being “darknet” mode, which will let users connect only to friends, second being “opennet” for communicating with all FreeNet users.

The application will store data that is transmitted between notes, and when a user uploads a file to the platform it will remain stored in the nodes no matter if he goes offline.
