GLOBOS is a simple desktop tool that can display a wallpaper showing a view of Earth or the Moon. The Earth view relies on your time zone to simulate the position of the sun and reflect its light on the world map, while the Moon view displays the earthshine.

GLOBOS is portable so you only need to decompress the archive and run the executable file to launch it. The wallpaper can be set to Earth, Moon or Globe view, plus you can zoom in and out, restore the original view and reload the images as needed.

Also, the monitor can be put to sleep from the app’s context menu, as well as enable/disable your screen saver or lock the workstation and put it to sleep. You can access more options to control the app from its context menu.

Among other things, GLOBOS provides some useful shortcuts for Calculator and Windows Explorer, system reboot and shutdown, set any running application window to stay on top and eject the USB storage device.
