TuxGuitar: Compose music while focusing on your creativity with this friendly tool

Talent is definitely required to compose beautiful music – TuxGuitar is a free application that can give you everything else you’d need to write songs.

The program has a modern, simple interface that highlights your current progress, showing an empty music sheet you’ll have to fill with rhythms and notes. You can set the tempo, select a clef and add a time signature.

There are various tools that let you increase/decrease a note to change its tone as well as all the markings that are normally used in musical sheets. TuxGuitar also lets you listen to your creations via the built-in player so you can easily change the areas that don’t turn out as expected.

For each track, you can select an instrument from the application’s comprehensive collection that includes piano, violin, steel string guitar, jazz electric guitar, piano, violin, cello, trombone, bag pipe, tuba and many others.
