Partition Saving is a backup software solution that supports various storage devices, including hard disks, partitions, as well as the Master Boot Record sector.

The UI is similar to classic DOS applications and, in the main window, you will find all available functions which you can enable using your mouse or keyboard.

You can use the program to save and restore individual elements from existing backup files, copy partitions or disks to a similar location, as well as copy, verify, and compress the generated backup files to check for potential errors. Partitions and backup files can be viewed and explored directly from Partition Saving.

On top of that, you can set the program to update the partition definitions in the Windows Registry. This will change the assigned drive letter to allow the system to detect it accurately once the partition is restored to a new location. Other items can be updated as well, specifically the BOOTSECT.BAK file and the boot configuration. This will ensure the boot loader can search the moved partition in the correct location.

Partition Saving is also able to fix broken FAT or NTFS boot sectors, reset bad sectors in the file system, create dummy files on NTFS drives to be used during backup jobs, and replace the FAT or NTFS boot sector with a copy should the original one become damaged.
