DVdate: Retrieves information about your AVI videos, such as the used codec, duration, FPS rate, etc, converts DV files, extracts audio, fixes video framerate, and more

DVdate is a small and portable application that's free for personal use and allows you to view Audio Video Interleave file information. Because DVdate is portable you can directly run the program from a USB flash drive or your PC's local hard drive.

The tool's graphical layout includes numerous features and AVI items can be opened via the built-in file browser or using the drag-and-drop method.

In the main window of the program, you can preview the clip as well as use a slider to navigate it frame by frame. DVdate will display detailed regarding the file's date code and codes, resolution, frames per second, codec, duration, and audio properties such as format, bit rate, frequency, and channel mode. Any of these fields can be copied to the Clipboard including their full or short name, file date or size.

DVdate enables you to work in full-screen mode, save the playlist as a plain text file, turn off sound, change the code, disable deinterlacing, read the RIFF header, add the date or time code, and adjust the frame rate. AVI can be recompressed into DV type 1, plus you can also show the inlay, extract audio, overwrite a date code, and convert the aspect ratio.
